Russia’s ambassador to UK appears to appears to laugh and dismiss Novichok inquiry | BBC News

The family of Dawn Sturgess, who died six years ago after coming into contact with Novichok, have been calling on Vladimir Putin to speak to the inquiry after her death in the Salisbury poisonings.

The BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg put their request directly to Andrei Kelin, the Russian ambassador to the UK, in as part of a wide-ranging sit-down interview that will be broadcast on Sunday.

“I hardly believe President Putin will go to Britain just to testify something,” he said.

The UK government holds Russia, and two Russian agents, known as Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov, responsible for the attack.

  1. What’s the name of that chemical lab real close to Salisbury again? You know the one, where all the deadly chemical weapons are created…Portalnd down is it? Just an observation…..

  2. There are no human rights in Ukraine, no right to life, banditry has begun in Ukraine, like in Chechnya during the second war. There they kidnapped people for ransom, here they kidnap people for ransom. Those who have no money are doomed. We need immediate negotiations and presidential elections. Zelensky is a corrupt official and a traitor to Ukraine. All this is a spiral of escalation: Kursk, North Korea, the possibility of a long-range strike… what next? Stop risking Europe immediately. It is not the Ukrainians who should die for the mythical security of Europe, but you who should not bring the situation to a catastrophe with the use of nuclear weapons. Negotiate immediately.

  3. The US sent Al Qaeda fighters to Ukraine. Paid them a couple of thousand dollars each man to fight.
There are videos of AQ fighters giving testimony. By March this year, 2022, at least 3000 US citizens were allegedly on the Ukrainian battlefield. In April, John T. Godfrey, the State Department’s Acting Coordinator for Counterterrorism, said of American extremists going to fight: “when they return, they have skill – they typically come back more radicalized than when they left … [T]hey do have hard skills that they are able to, in some cases, use in attacking targets domestically.” In intelligence circles, this is called “blowback.”

Foreign fighters in Ukraine have ridiculed an American who fled the country when he was faced with fighting Russians in Kyiv with supplied gear, and complained in a viral video that he had been lured into a 'trap'.

Henry Hoeft, 28, was among thousands of foreigners to answer the call of Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky to help repel Moscow's invasion of his country – including a reported 3,000 U.S. citizens.

  4. Looks like this comment section is either trolled by Ukrainian bots or just sheep who believe that BBC is "independent". Stupid interview and a disgrace! No wonder people are switching off from mainstream media, leaving those who lack critical thinking due to their Russophobia. Salisbury was an obvious red flag and now an enquiry 5 years later when support for the Ukraine war is waning. Hmmm. BBC playing the role of a reliable propaganda tool.

  5. Assange!,!,.The UK punish over 3000 citisens for comments on social media. How many did NATO kill over the false claim that Irak had weapen of massdestruction. NATO is not better than Russia

  6. Quote alot of Russian soldiers have died, what about Ukraine? He didn't even mention that Ukrainians are being slaughtered in Kursk, he doesn't even mention that Ukraine is losing in the Donbus, he doesn't even mention that the war didn't start in 2022 rather in the 90s all the way through 2008, 2014 and 2022, it's stupidity to call that a reality check, a bunch of liars

  7. "Novichok" was one of the stupidest hoaxes our intelligence agencies have pulled yet. Why wouldn't the Russians laugh at it? It was ridiculous.
    Shalom, Laura!

  8. Jesus, Laura Kunessberg is a child. "Does the suffering keep you awake at night?"…
    🤣🤣🤣
"Well the UK doesn't believe you?"…Lol yeah I'm sure they care about what the British establishment thinks as much as the British citizenry does…i.e., not a fiddler's eff.

  9. he obviously follows the party poo tin line because he doesn't want to be "retired" like lots of other russians who have the temerity of thinking for themselves.

  10. Putin was tricked by a false angel of light, and thinks he maybe forgiven, but he wont. Putin bowed down to Satan, who has taken over his body, and is now planning to kill as many people in the world as possible. Ask his Russian counterparts, why do they follow this man ? Their fathers never knew him, why follow him, he has not lived up to any of his promises.
