Anyone watching Tottenham Hotspur of late will recognise that Dejan Kulusevski is in the form of his life, and now, key statistics comparing him to other midfielders across Europe suggest he is the best around at the moment.

Spurs registered a big win at the weekend over local rivals West Ham, in a result which got the Lilywhites back on track after the disappointing 3-2 defeat to Brighton before the international break.
Ange Postecoglou‘s side were behind in the first-half against West Ham, but a clever goal from Dejan Kulusevski levelled the scores before the break.
Tottenham came out in the second-half and put the Hammers to the sword to secure a 4-1 win courtesy of goals from Yves Bissouma, Heung-min Son and an Areola own goal.
Kulusevski took his tally to two goals and two assists for the season with that key goal against West Ham on Saturday afternoon, but his game has evolved of late to consist of much more than just goal contributions.
The Swedish star has switched to a more central role, and has been given the freedom to dictate play from anywhere in and around the opponent’s box. Suffice to say, the move has been a successful one and he is now arguably Tottenham’s most influential player.

Don’t just take our word for it, though. In comparing Kulusevski against other Premier League midfielders acrosss six crucial metrics, DataMB found that he is not only leading the way domestically, but also in comparison to players in his role across Europe’s top leagues, too.
Kulusevski has registered more dribbles per 90 minutes than any midfielder in the English top flight, and has also won more offensive duels per 90 than anyone in the league.
More impressive still, is the fact that Kulusevski has now got the most key passes in Europe, has clocked up the most progressive runs, the most accelerations, and has registered more deep completions than anyone in the top leagues on the continent.

Dejan Kulusevski is well and truly running things for Spurs right now. His work rate and the ground he covers each game is phenomenal, and he is now playing with a directness and aggression that we’ve not really seen before. If Tottenham are to be successful this season, Kulusevski will be key to those efforts.
