Speaking to the Ayr Advertiser, Ava told how it was a “dream come true” securing the win over 40 other Miss GB finalists.

She said: “I am honoured to take the Miss Great Britain crown back to Scotland. I am also the youngest Miss Great Britain in 10 years.

“It’s a reminder that stepping out of my comfort zone was the best thing I could have done, and now I’m excited to use this win to inspire and empower others to do the same.

“A huge thank you to everyone who came and attended to support me. Hearing you all cheer me on relaxed me and made the experience even more enjoyable.”

She was crowned by former winner Madeleine Wahdan at the end of the two- day event.

Student Ava, who studies international business at the University of Edinburgh had previously qualified as Miss GB Edinburgh.

She demonstrated her charitable abilities, talent, and publicity efforts.

I didn’t have £500 to fork out for a Dyson Air Wrap so paid £20 for the B&M dupe – yes it smokes but my curls last all day

She also won best publicity campaign after creating ‘BeBoobAware’ which aims to raise greater understanding and awareness for Breast Cancer

And after being interviewed privately by the judging panel of six experts, she cinched the “Best in Interview” award .

Ava added: ” It symbolises everything I’ve worked for – the personal growth, the confidence I’ve built and the opportunity to turn my platform, BeBoob Aware, into something even bigger.

“This title means I can reach more people, raise greater awareness for Breast Cancer and show others that no matter where you start, you can achieve incredible things.”

As well as the crown, Ava was awarded a top range of prizes which includes a car from Nissan which she can keep for the duration of her Miss Great Britain reign.
