The Angus Steakhouse on Praed St had a two hour wait time, so I ended up stumbling upon this gem while waiting for my table! I hope the influencers don’t find out about this one, they’ve ruined Angus Steakhouse for us locals.

  1. You should check out this authentic Portuguese place I found if you like chicken. It’s called Nendos or something like that!

  2. Mate can you pack it in, this sub has been giving away all the best secrets something fierce for the last week or som

  3. I hear celebrities go for special dates at places like Chicken cottage. How very lucky of you to have had this experience!

  4. That cute little coffee shop behind there is also one of Londons best kept secrets.. keep it to yourself!

  5. As my friend Caesar used to call it “le
Poule de Cotage” fine establishment that is
Don’t spread the word too much about it though …

  6. Not to be rude, but can’t we at least gatekeep SOME of the best eateries for us Londoners?

  7. Every time I’ve been there it was packed with celebrities! Last time I’ve been there I saw Conor McGregor kick a toddler so hard it exploded!

  8. I’m surprised the Chicken Connoisseur hasn’t reviewed 135 Praed street. Hands down the best fried chicken in London. KFC really need to raise their game. They are super fast and always friendly.

  9. Interestingly, this was my fav chicken shop during the pandemic. I was living in Bayswater and I think I ordered the 20 chicken nuggets combo at least 30 times.

After the first lockdown ended, I had the honour to visit this place in person. I’ve never ordered anything else there since then. The nuggets were 10/10 though

  10. There are so many chicken places, it’s hard to pick out the really good ones. I hope not too many people find out about Chicken Cottage, but ONLY the Praed Street branch because I think they get their chickens direct from a country farm in the Cotswolds.

  11. Sorry to disappoint but you are NOT the first person to discover this amazing dining establishment. It is already a beloved and well-known institution ever since Amelia Dimoldenberg went on a date with Paul Mescal here.

  12. I should add, Angus Steakhouse was bound to reach new levels of popularity once the masses found out about it. Similar to Miller and Carter Steakhouse, which is up there with the best the country has to offer.

  13. Chicken Cottage. One can only say iconic and **checks napkin** the best eatery in these parts

  14. … so you’re saying you don’t want people to know about this place… so you post it on the London Sub-Reddit… where people will see?

  15. Chicken cottage is amazing. Love that place. It’s not very known to tourists and I want to keep it that way. Such a hidden gem. 💎

  16. I photo opped a sausage that looked like a horses willy at Miggins coffee shop & pie emporium, just yesterday, I hope I didn’t expose one of London’s most renowned eateries to the torrent of AI-BS over multiple platforms along the way.

  17. I’m such a fan of the 8 piece bucket and fries from chicken cottage. It’s my little secret. I’d hate for people to stumble upon this little culinary gold mine.

  18. People take this piss but Angus Steakhouse is ranked in the top 20 best restaurants in London on Tripadvisor.

  19. “Hope those people posting about locations in the internet dont see me posting about this location on the internet…”

  20. LOVE that artisan coffee shop next door too.

Do pop in next time you’re in town, I believe there’s a loyalty card

  21. Quite the entitled to us locals comment. Of the business only wanted you they would have saved you a table

  22. You need to reserve angus steakhouse about 1 month in advance, that’s the only way I’ve gotten into it. We’re so lucky to have a great steakhouse in our city!

  23. This is my go-to place while waiting for the 1:30am or 3:30am train back to West London. I grew up on this before the branch closest to me got closed due to rats and such. I’m glad that only happened to that branch though 😅

  24. You should’ve gone to UDK (Urban Donner Kebab). I’m sure its a few doors away from that chicken shop. My God this place is amazing if you want some decent food for under a tenner.

  25. Tooting Chicken Cottage used to be the best one, proper flag ship store of this fine establishment. But ever since “the chicken cottage awards for excellence” when it became popular with Sadiq Khan etc, it’s been plagued by fitness influencers, taking photos of the £2.99 2 piece chicken meal.

  26. I know this is a joke post, but I love this CC – before I moved nearly 8 years ago, I used to frequent this place a lot and it holds a lot of memories for me. I had a free afternoon a few months back and found myself in central. Made my way here for a cheeky lunch 😋 Thanks for posting this little memory

  27. So then where would you post about it online. You are the cause of your own future problems.

  28. Unironically I actually do love this exact chicken shop, I ordered from there last night

  29. We just had a Chicken Cottage open in my ends, and frankly the hype is real. The queues make sense… A culinary triumph of flavour and deliciousness.
