I remember a very vocal Reagan and H.W. Bush debating the best ways to provide citizenship for the much needed foreign workers.
2022 feels kinda distant. Would love to see updated numbers.
So Biden’s administration deported more people in two years than Trump’s did in 4. Fascinating.
This data just shows half of the equation. Need to see the number of entries, not just deportation.
Easier to have more deportations when you let everyone in 🤷‍♂️
How does Reagan’s 1985 amnesty play into these numbers? Or DACA? Or DREAMers?
If I were the analyst making this plot I would have added a line of % for each couple of bars, with a second vertical axis on the right
Total cases of what? Data is not beautiful when it doesn’t clearly explain what it’s showing.
Under the Trump administration approximately 64% were deported.
Under the Biden administration approximately 63% were deported.
So there were more encounters but about the same rate of deportation
For this to be effective data youd also have to examine number of crossings
Dealing with USCIS under Trump was hell. Processes that took 6 months suddenly took 2+ years.
Should look at unique deportations, since apparently the border is so porous we can deport the same person four times and they can make it back in again and murder a citizen.
A big part of the problem is that we don’t have the infrastructure in the court system to quickly deal with asylum cases, which is what the border security bill that got spiked was trying to address
Man I can’t wait until all the political people leave in a week or two. This thread is a toxic mess full of misinformation and bots.
How can there be more “total cases” than actual deportations???
Clinton deported more than anyone else, guess they will have to wrap their head around that
I want this same chart along with estimated number of border crossings. Currently we’re sort of missing the population part of it
Misinformation. People that are apprehended at the border and sent back to Mexico within hours are being counted by DHS as a deportation. People in the country aren’t being deported This graph is to try and convince people that the democrats are tough on the border.
Where’s Ronald Reagan when you need him?
How’s the number of deportations more than the total cases in parts of this graph?
If this is supposed to give anyone the idea that the Biden-Harris administration is tough on immigration, let me just say, when you stop them at the border, you don’t have so many to deport.
How can the deportation exceed the total cases?
wait, so Clinton sent more people out than was coming in? must have been his political rivals. or he said Screw It, it’s my last term, what are they going to do, not vote for me?
