Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez inaugurated Tata Advanced Systems Limited’s new facility in Vadodara, Gujarat. This facility, developed in partnership with Airbus, marks India’s first private sector final assembly line for military aircraft, specifically the C-295 transport aircraft. PM Modi emphasized that this venture is a significant boost for India’s “Make in India, Make for the World” initiative, fostering exports and the potential for civil aircraft manufacturing in the future.

This facility, PM Modi said, will contribute to job creation, with thousands of components manufactured across India by small industries. The Prime Minister also invited Spanish firms to invest in India, strengthening the India-Spain industrial alliance.

Spanish PM Sanchez praised PM Modi’s vision for turning India into an industrial powerhouse, with the first aircraft set to roll out in 2026. Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran confirmed that the project, originally envisioned by Ratan Tata, would produce India’s first indigenously manufactured military aircraft in two years. This facility aligns with India’s 2021 deal with Airbus to replace the Indian Air Force’s ageing Avro-748 aircraft.

Later, PM Modi inaugurated Bharat Mata Sarovar in Amreli and will soon launch several developmental projects at an event.
