  2. They’re all very widely beloved except for Madam España, and Queen Camilla (the latter unfairly, in my opinion).

  6. Tough call between Maxima and Mary. I genuinely can’t choose because I don’t know which King needs more support from his wife to get through the responsibilities. Willem-Alexander seems more competent (maybe because of “time on throne”?). Frederick seems as though he needs his wife support more to get through the day, and Maxima seems more of an equal to her husband. (Mary seems superior to her husband, who comes across as weak. Infidelity is not a good look, dude).

    So, best as an equal: Maxima

    Best as a prop to help the King do his duty: Mary

    All that from someone who lives 1000s of miles away and has no day to day knowledge of any of this!

  7. Maxima. I just love her backstory. She was a woman working in Finance in the 90’s in NYC when she met her future husband. That tells me she’s badass smart in a male dominated field. But normally, work like that kinda hardens you—especially in NYC of all places—but she seems to be a genuinely a warm person.

    And whatever kind of work ethic she had that propelled her career track from Argentina to NYC, I feel like she had carried it over to her work as Crown Princess and now Queen. And it shows.

  11. Camilla, she has the best jewellery and is the only one to actually be crowned before God. The others are mere figureheads.

  16. Seems like it’s gonna be unpopular but it’s – Letizia 10/10 not only she works a lot , she has best fashion style. Spanish Monarchy is not well liked and both Felipe and Leti know that so they put in the effort from working nonstop to clearing out all the family baggage.

  17. Queen Sonja of Norway. She seems like a lovely person and I love that Harald refused to marry anyone else, they look very sweet together.

    I wish the younger generations made things easier for them.

  18. Could we get a list of who’s who? Just so I know who people have chosen. My votes Mary, because she’s a fellow Aussie, Princess Diana was placed on a pedestal my house. So Mary’s the only one I recognise.

  19. Queen Mary and Letizia have the best style, Queen Maxima looks like the best fun on night out. Queen Matilda looks the most serious and dignified. The older ladies are very elegant and Queenly apart from Camilla who reminds me of a cuckoo in the nest and has no redeeming features. Sorry not sorry.

  24. Silvia. I don’t think Sweden would still have a monarchy without her. She was so likeable at her wedding, and then kept up the family’s image during the eighties and nineties. She wasn’t a perfect parent to Victoria, she put too much pressure on her. However, she managed to raise a dedicated future queen.

    I think Silvia may be the first consort who treated the position as a job. It seems to me that Mary of Denmark has followed in her footsteps.

  27. Queen Rania of Jordan. I don’t often agree with her political views, but she states them well & is a real cheerleader for her countries positions in a high conflict part of the world. She also translates her countries hopes to the west, in a more palatable manner.

  28. Queen Mary of Denmark for me. She is so loved by her fellow citizens. Then, I would say Queen Letizia. She comes as no bullshit, does her work.

  32. Why did I get mass downvoted for saying Camilla? I think she’s a really cool person who’s been treated very cruelly by the press. I admire her optimism and her commitment to charities that help victims of domestic abuse and promote literacy.

  40. Silvia, she is low-key but an amazing child rights advocate and has been very ahead of her time in her activism.

  41. I’m really sad to see how much hate Camilla is receiving on this thread. As someone who has met her and has a friend who worked for her and thus knew her personally, I think it’s grossly unfair that she received such hate and lots of it is based on lies spun by the media or the Netflix series the Crown which some people seem to forget is constructed and not fully factual.

  45. Letezia, Maxima, and Mary are my favorites but there are others that are great as well. Camilla looks good in the crown she is wearing in the picture you’re showing, but she doesn’t hold a candle to any of the other Queens shown here. She makes Charles happy and that’s good, but that doesn’t put her at the same level as the others.
