If you’re into the world of nerdy sports data, you may have heard of the idea of a “scorigami” before. A scorigami, coined by Jon Bois (who is an absolutely amazing storyteller) in this [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l5C8cGMueY), is the first time a specific score occurs in a league.

Since the term was coined, lots of folks have made cool visualizations around scorigami. I’ve always wished though that there was a visualization that let you easily slice the data up by season and matchup, so this tool is my take on that.

Hope you have fun checking it out!

Built using Vue and p5.js using data from [Pro Football Reference](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/game-scores.htm).

  2. This is super cool, I love scorigami data visualizations like this! A bit of domain knowledge you could integrate:

A handful of scores are impossible to record, so you could consider blacking-out (or whatever other method) those squares so that white squares are truly unrecorded scorigamis. I can’t remember which ones exactly, but they’d be easy to look up.

  3. I don’t know much about Football, but it seems like older games center around 6 points for each team, while newer games center around 22. Are games longer/easier, or are teams getting better at scoring?
