Reminds me of what I call our lane down here. Just a few properties. Village at one end, caravan site at another. I call it “Dog Shit Alley”
It’s not a rat run.
It’s the public highway, the one we all pay a fortune to use.
Someone spent time planning and implementing this, I wish I had that much free time đŸ˜„
It would be incredible if the entre street got no post that day because somebody had vandalised the signs.
Which road is it?
We have a blue ball lane over here.
Simple solution, turn it into an LTN, they’re pretty popular in other areas of Oxfordshire.
Resident upset in Banbury, why?
LTN to the rescue!
Nice one. We’ve just had a traffic study done and 70% of the traffic on our street is rat runners. Thing is, the surface is fucked because it was never designed for that.
There is a DogPoo lane near us

Next week they’ll be complaining they haven’t had any parcels delivered.
That’ll show ‘em.
Ride a cock horse down there…
Let’s hope no one needs an ambulance down there. (yeh, ok i know, sat nav n stuff, but any confusion could waste time).
Its funny, because in also all instances the road isn’t a “rat run” it is simple the way you get from one place to another.
I’m sorry, but what’s wrong with using a road?
It would be funny if it was a no through road
Cue the inevitable local news article with obligatory compo face.
We had the same issue, people mithered the council and they but bollards up forcing drivers back on the the main road, only took them 2 years. There’s now at least 90% less traffic.
I can understand people not wanting to go through the middle of town during rush hour, but it only saves about a minute using this road instead of Springfield Avenue. I’d much rather people convinced the council to finally do something about the shitshow at the top end of Ruscote Avenue (outside Tesco). That desperately needs expanding.
Tbh that’s how a lot of roads got their names in the first place.
“accidentally” break down in the middle of the road during rush hour
