  1. Ah yes, turkey, the paragon of virtue, especially when it comes to genocides and ethnic cleansing.

  2. I feel like you could write about Erdogan doing anything, add “and then bombs the Kurds”, and it would likely be true.

  3. Wait, I’m cofnused. Didn’t the Kurds did a terrorist attack on Turkey this week that’s why they are bombing them? Is there another narrative???

  4. You know, the Middle East today reminds me of early interwar central and eastern Europe. Broken promises and hypocrisy on the upper level and wars for ordinary citizens and soldiers.

  5. Fascism 101

Fascism 201: Send outside agitators to Kurdish regions to commit violent attacks on Kurds, then send “peace keeping troops” to the same area and attack Kurdish “terrorists”

  6. Turkey’s main goal in life is the eradication of all Kurds in Turkey and Syria. Doesn’t matter how it happens but Erdogan is gonna make sure. Lmao what a knob

  7. In Turkey Kurds have their own political party in parliament, they have equal rights under the law. It is true that the South East of the country is underdeveloped economically so kurds with the majority of them living there face socioeconomic problems. While it is true that Turkey under Erdoğan overwhelmingly gravitates towards the stick, in a moral sense it’s no different that in the stunts the USA pulls around the world. It is true that kurds near the border of Turkey face coercive force but it is true at the same time that organisations such as the PKK commit reprehensible acts. Kurds aren’t a monolithic entity, while the kurds in Rojova may be applauded, those committing violence should be chastised. I don’t think that the solution to the problem is a military one, but if it was turks spreading separatist narratives in a western country everyone would be outraged. The complete lack of nuance and understanding when it comes to this issue infuriates me to no end.

  8. Yes pot calling the kettle black.

However in this case, just like with Erdogan criticising China’s treatment of Uighurs, it doesn’t make the kettle white.

  10. The nation that is occupying northern Cyprus and sent settlers to it and now occupying parts of Syria plus is also stealing churches and turning them mosque and has committed genocides and oppressed ethic minorities for its entire history

  11. He’s the incarnation of the phrase “we didn’t do it but if we did, they deserved it“

  12. It’s a shame Machiavelli didn’t live to see the Middle East in the 20th/21st centuries.

  13. Turkey is a beautiful country and the people are great, but Erdogan is no friend of the West. He has jailed the highest number of journalists of any country to quash dissent. He is hosting Hamas, and sticks it to us in the US every chance he gets. He says LGBT people “don’t exist.” And, maybe worst of all, Turkey has embarked on a program to kill all of their stray dogs.
