Israel Hezbollah War Live Updates: US President Joe Biden’s senior advisers Amos Hochstein and Brett McGurk will arrive in Israel on Thursday to try to close a deal that would end the war in Lebanon, Axios reported on Tuesday, citing three unidentified sources.

A deal that would end the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah could be achieved within a few weeks, Israeli and U.S. officials said, according to Axios.

Hochstein and McGurk are expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant and Minister for Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, as per a report by Axios.

The United Nations previously said that Israel must fulfill its obligations under international law to meet Palestinian needs if it implements legislation severing ties with UNRWA. According to Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, UNRWA remains irreplaceable, serving as essential support during the Gaza conflict. UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric indicated that Israeli legislation would severely affect humanitarian conditions in Palestinian territories.

UN organizations focused on children, health, and migration emphasized UNRWA’s critical role in Gaza operations. The agency provides crucial emergency food assistance during the ongoing conflict, which has resulted in significant casualties and widespread destruction.

Dujarric noted the widespread international backing for UNRWA and expressed appreciation for any member state’s assistance in addressing current challenges.
