To be fair, dodgy marketing aside, I just drink whatever tastes nice – I don’t actually care whether it’s brewed in Spain or Scunthorpe.
Wait till people find out where Dolmio is made.
Turns out, shipping what is basically water over long distances is extremely wasteful
Oh no! But didn’t everyone already know this? and isn’t it clearly marked on the can or bottle? OMG!
I guess it does make sense, cheaper and more environmentally friendly just brewing in Manchester rather than shipping millions of litres of lager from Italy.
Just wish they didn’t mess with the recipes. I much prefer the maltier styles you often get in Europe.
I am completely shocked and taken aback by this revelation
spanish brewed san miguel and belgian brewed stella were always nicer tasting than uk brewed stuff. a few years ago you could find imported stuff in your local offie ( you could tell the imported stuff by the multiple languages used on the can and in the ingredients list ) nowadays they’re almost impossible to find… thanks brexit.
Yeah, they literally write it on the can. ‘brewed under licence for x company in y Town UK’.
Bottles of Corona, depending on where you buy it, is either brewed in Mexico or England. If it tasted the same it wouldn’t be an issue, but the Mexican stuff is much nicer.
Thank God Madri is still shipped directly from Spain, by galleon I believe.
WTF😂😂 The Daily Star looks at the can and discovers it wasn’t brewed abroad… Massive picture of Carlsberg which has had a brewery in Northampton since the mid 1970s…
I thought this was common knowledge?
Are people really not aware of this? It’s really news? Heineken were brewing lager in Northampton in the bloody 70s
Its far better to brew everything in the UK.. keeps the money in the country
As long as its cheap i’ll drink it.
It says so on the bottle. It’s not champagne.
It’s a good thing. We can get some production jobs and it doesn’t need to be shipped.

> All of the beers clearly demonstrated on the back where they had been brewed
So they exposed themselves? How do journalists even motivate themselves to get out of bed in the morning.
I thought it was all brewed in Manchester apart from Leffe
I mean duh? The problem is that there shouldn’t be a difference in taste based on geographic location (Climate not withstanding) but for some ungodly reason, the locally brewed stuff is worse in my experience. I suspect the British public just isn’t all that discerning.
“brands exposed” Mother fucker it’ll have brewed in “insert location here” printed on the bottle or can
The Star hasn’t uncovered some grand conspiracy here, they have seemly only just gained the ability to read a label and and acting as if nobody else ever has
They’ll be running an expose about how all the Chicken in UK KFC’s doesn’t come from the state of Kentucky next week
The big brewery on Princess rd Manchester used to have a massive Fosters sign on it. Now it has a massive Heineken sign on it. Hardly a big secret.
This is quite standard worldwide, beers are brewed under licence locally not shipped around the globe.
What!? Are you saying that bottle of Stella I’ve got in the fridge, which says “brewed in Lancashire” on the label *wasn’t* brewed in a traditional Belgian brewery by Monsieur Artois himself?
I’m shocked, SHOCKED!
Staropramen was made in Prague when fhirst sold here. Now Burton on trent. However, sainsburys Czech lager which is cheaper, is made at the Starop brewery in Prague. Just so you know.

No shit. Just cos a beer was originally from a country, doesn’t mean it can’t be brewed over here.
If you want a real conspiracy look at Hob Goblin. If you get it in a bottle it’s 5%, but if you get it in a can it’s 4% with “20% extra free”. Quick maths says the extra free is just water.
Fosters: drink Austrian think Australian…..brewed in the uk. This is old news
