  1. Articles like these are sadly only marginally useful.

What is the call to the action? There is none which just leaves anxiety or the suggestion you should give up.

    Here’s what you should do.

In the US volunteer with Environmental Voter Project up through Nov 4 to help elect environmental candidates. It’s really easy work, your just reminding registered non voters who care about the environment to do so.

Otherwise go talk to your elected leaders. The closer you can get to taking to them the better.

    Consider running for office.

Continue to _support_ green living to be an example to peers and companies.

  2. >investments in destructive companies

ah, so they’re double counting the carbon footprints.

are they performing a similar double counting calculation when evaluating the 99% who also have investments in carbon producing industries through their pension funds?

  3. So if we take all 3200 billionaires, it’s really just 3200 extra people on the earth and the carbon footprint of their lifetimes. I think a much bigger story is every time new fossil fuel reserves are discovered a cheer goes up from the media.

  4. Because carbon limits would impact billionaires the most, they will not be passed by politicians (who listen to money, not people).

  5. That reminds me of the point that the top 10 percent of people worldwide are responsible for at least 60 percent of personal consumption.

  6. I only care about what I can control

Which is my money and my vote

Choose to be cautious where you spend your hard earned dollars and consider electing officials who represent causes of concern

  7. Funfact: “apocalypse” is Greek for “reveal”, and never meant “chaos” or “destruction” until a Roman emperor decided to create a state religion and the local oligarchs saw the opportunity to suppress lower classes with Fear, as usual, and cherry picked a book to serve their purpose.

They meant to say “armegeddon” but really mean “stupid peasants”… as usual.
