Swiss Made (and hergestellt in der Schweiz but without French version of the same statement), Belgian barcode (or Luxembourg). What’s the truth? Which economy do I support? And other questions that help me make the post longer.

  1. If youre worried about which economy support.. I think coca cola pays 1.4% taxes in ireland, so by buying coca cola you really dont support anything but diabetes and selling groundwater to the people that live on the ground of said water.

Edit: the word “taxes” was missing. Like it is as a position in the accounting software of coca cola.

  2. Fun fact: Red Bull sold in Switzerland is made in Austria, but Red Bull sold in Japan is made in Switzerland

  3. Barcode does only say where the company is registerd that owns the code number range from GS1. Has nothing to do with country of production.

German, French and Italian is not mandatory on a product for Switzerland. Only 1 national language is sufficient according to the law.

From my point of view, there is no indication here to doubt Switzerland as a production country.

  4. Wait because of the barcode you don’t trust that it’s made in CH? Or what is this post about?

  5. The code is indeed tight to specific country / product / size. It is produced in Switzerland, in the plant in Brüttisellen. Otherwise legally the Swiss made icon could not be on the product. Also legally, only one of the national languages is required to be used on the label. Where space allows, the nutrition text is both German and French, however the hergestellt is by default only applied on German. I actually made the label.
