  1. >An Israeli military official has told the BBC that it carried out a deadly strike on a five-storey residential building in Beit Lahia in northern Gaza on Tuesday in response to seeing a “spotter” on the roof with binoculars observing Israeli forces.
    >Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry said more than 90 Palestinians, including 25 children, were killed or missing beneath the rubble of the building, which collapsed as a result of the strike.

Now, I don’t want to seem like an arm chair General as I’m like 5-7 years removed from active service and I didn’t have to do the dirty work of doing 5 lines.

However I think dropping a 2,000 pounder on a guy with binoculars, on top of a building that hasn’t been cleared of civilians, for a guy well within range of small arms fire is… shall we say a bit of overkill?

Not to mention a possible warcrime as  binoculars by themselves are not a military weapon, and if Israel is plainly murdering anyone they suspect of being an observer that is very dangerous?
