Lavrov stated that stability in Europe requires security guarantees for Russia, like the December 2021 initiatives. This essentially implies the withdrawal of all foreign military forces from NATO countries that joined the alliance after 1997, meaning 14 countries would be excluded.

  1. Delusional to think that would happen. They know it but they still push it to paint themselves as the “victims of western aggression”.

Also, they want 14 (+Finland and Sweden) served on a silver plate for the for the future invasions and occupation.

  2. BS! Stability in Europe (and Asia) requires defanging that dumb war machine Russia has showed itself to be.

But seriously, we need to remember that EVERY TIME we quote or mention anything they say, we should restate it to align with reality.

  3. Yeah, the country actively invading on of it’s neighbours should get security assurances….

    They can go get stuffed.

  4. Stability is easy if they stop lying and encroaching on foreign lands. The USSR is dead, the republics that emerged are independent and should be respected. If Russia could just be a respectful and kind neighbor their would reap tons of love and respect from neighboring states. They are creating the adversary they fear most and it will certainly destroy them. The adversary is within themselves, and they are weak men and project their worst on everything else.

  5. No, peace is achieved with strength of arms and by bankrupting your opponent in a war of attrition.

Diplomacy has barely ever ended a war.

Korea failure, Vietnam failure, Afghanistan failure, WW2, failure (letting Jodl sign some papers is called a dictated peace not a great diplomatic feat, bombing Japan with firebombs and nukes is not diplomacy, and that list goes on and on and on.

WW1? Dictated peace, I could prolong that list almost indefinitely.

This war will not end with a compromise it will end with the total exhaustion of the Russian finances, resources, and the bankruptcy of the Russian state.

And then we will dictate peace. Fascists are not capable of peace. Any negotiations with Russia are worthless and useless as long as the Putin regime exists.

I wonder how often this must be restated until it sinks in that negotiations with terrorists without the use of force are both naive and dangerous.

Russia has nothing to offer that we could need, the compromise is their full withdrawal and that is far too generous. We should aim for the total destruction of the Russian state instead of such soft ball demands.

Ukraine’s 1991 borders are not negotiable. And neither is Russia’s full withdrawal.

Zelenskyy says Ukraine won’t consider exchanging territories for Western guarantees

President says Ukraine won’t negotiate any ceasefire

Selensky understands that because he is a very smart man.

You have to recognize that if you, in the name of peace, roll over in front of an aggressor. This may ensure peace maybe not in your time but our time, but it ensures war at a later time.

The Munich agreement is the prime example. I was always against appeasement, not because I was for war. But because I was for peace for a generation for a century rather than peace in my own time.”

Richard Nixon, 37th president of the United States

Admittedly, there’s a risk in any course we follow other than this, but every lesson of history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to face, that their policy of accommodation is appeasement and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight or surrender.

You and I have the courage to say to our enemies, “There is a price we will not pay.” “There is a point beyond which they must not advance.” And this – this is the meaning in the phrase of Barry Goldwater’s “peace through strength.” Winston Churchill said, “The destiny of man is not measured by material computations. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we’re spirits – not animals.” And he said, “There’s something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty.”

You and I have a rendezvous with destiny.

We’ll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we’ll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.

We will keep in mind and remember that Barry Goldwater has faith in us. He has faith that you and I have the ability and the dignity and the right to make our own decisions and determine our own destiny.

The West will fight, and we will win because our will to defeat Russia trumps that of this old fool and his collaborative elements around the globe.

We will fight Russia in cyberspace, politically, economically, and hurt them in every way possible until they surrender and withdraw. Russia makes a huge mistake to underestimate our resolve. It would do good to take their opponent seriously, for we definitely take the Russian threat seriously and understand now that Russia wants war with the US led alliance.

  6. I wish NATO had the balls just to publically say, ” Fuck off, Lavrov! Russia’s never getting that empire back. Besides, you have demonstrated that Russian guarantees guarantee nothing!”

  7. Aww puddin…maybe you should ask Chechnya for some guarantees because they are gunning for you now

  8. But wouldn’t it be even more stable if russia was colonized by a funcional administration instead?

  9. NATO should say ok. No problem. Done.

And let the 14 countries join Ukraine on a stroll to Moscow.
