Kia smashes US sales record again in October with surging demand for EVs. After another record-breaking month, Kia said the growth is fueled by “strong demand” for its electric vehicles. All-electric vehicles (EVs) led the way, with sales surging 70% year-over-year (YOY).

  1. Ev9 is the value pick in its segment and is well rated. Ev6 also is highly regarded and widely available.

I expect the Ev3 will do very well when it comes out.

  2. The latest narrative spreading in the right-wing echo chamber is that EVs are in decline and the world is ‘going back’ to gas-burners. Which is nonsense as EV sales are hitting new records and auto manufacturers are investing hundreds of billions of dollars in new battery manufacturing factories and transitioning assembly lines to electric. But these articles will point to a single model with declining sales or lower profitability of select manufacturers that are investing heavily in retooling their factories, which is expected. This, they say, is proof that “no one wants EVs”. And the low information folks are buying it of course.

Kia and others, meanwhile, are showing that demand is strong and the only ‘secret’ to successful EV sales is building the right car and selling it at the right price. Something the auto industry has always known.

  3. oh look Ford’s issue really is b/c they insist on selling pricey EV’s with 30k dealer mark-ups.

  4. Huh, this makes me think perhaps all the US carmakers blaming their EVs selling poorly on a slump in EV sales may not be in fact the reason that’s happening.
