Reality check: bakers here prefer to go to work for industrial bakeries or in large-scale food distribution, small bakeries demand inhuman hours and starvation wages cause “we are small and don’t pay a lot, but here it’s like being in family” like people doesn’t already have one at home waiting for them.
The best Italian food I’ve had so far was in Taiwan, believe it or not.
European cuisine is really going down the drain. You can literally taste it. When some random Asian chef surpasses you, that’s when you’re in big, big trouble.
Never understood people’s obsession with panettone, it’s too sweet to be eaten like bread and too bready to be treated as cake.
I bought one yesterday, but it was from an industrial bakery
Oh no, nobody can have dry brioche for Christmas.
Just buy Pitch Chocolate Filled Brioche. Exactly the same thing but still moist.
Let’s be honest, most of those international entrants are going to be from the diaspora, and Japan is just the Italy of Asia (similar shape; allies in WW1/axis in WW2 and somehow losers in both; likes to ends words in vowels; peaked centuries ago and still obsessed with this time, good food but takes it too seriously, failed imperial ambitions and pretends like they don’t care anymore, famous for cars fashion and tourism, average height about 150cm, dudes somehow still have a machismo complex but also a skincare regime, both get angry if you tell them their national dish is from China, 2/3 same colours on flag, both use blue as a sporting colour even though its not on their flags, modern right wing openly praises fascist past with no repercussions, left wing in shambles, big bidet enjoyers, I could go on…)
So the Hansification has begun…
It’s only a panettone if it’s from Milan, else it’s just sparkling bread
