I was gone for like 2 weeks. When I came back the roof fell off. There is mold on the wall. I checked with people from upstairs they had sink problems( they were in contact with the owner about it) and it looks like it was because of that.
I had told house owner about the damage. He is coming tomorrow to see the damage.
What should I know before talking with him?
Any suggestions is appreciated
Thanks

Looks like major moisture damadge due to the “sink problems”. Your landlord needs a plan on how to get your walls dry again, not just how to get the cosmetic repairs done
Looks like not your fault, landlord or above tenants should have to cover. Btw. Roof is what covers the actual house. What you have, is a ceiling.
Nevertheless, doesn’t seem.your fault at all.
That’s paid by the buildings insurance.
How was the front, though?
Hopefully, the parties involved are properly insured.
Many years ago, I was helping some friends of mine move. We were clearing out their old apartment and had made a start on the contracturally required small repairs and repainting. The kitchen, we knew, was going to be a real pain, but it had to be done.
After a long day we went out for dinner and came back to find water all over the kitchen floor, and more running down the light fitting (which alarmed us greatly). Nobody was in the apartment above so we called the police and fire brigade; the fire brigade broke in and found the kitchen flooded.
However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. No serious lasting damage had been done, and the insurance paid for a professional redecorating company to do the kitchen.
I dont think its supposed to fall off
Your landlord has to pay for your hotel or whatever costs you have for housing while you can’t live there.
you are responsible for the floor, not the roof you ain’t living up side down … so you can say nothing
