> This sum includes the cost of uniforms, ammunition, and other necessities. The calculation is based on the recently extended duration of the Basic General Military Training (BGMT) programme, which has increased from 30 to 45 days.
“to train” is kinda euphemistic in this context
Was in a meeting earlier and in our discussion the price to equip and train a clerical worker was estimated as $5k.
A very reasonable cost. 🇺🇦🇺🇸
Would it not be cheaper to train them in their own currency?
I kinda wish that was higher
Thats why they so good
Frankly, that seems pretty reasonable-to-low. That’s less than a furnace replacement.
Russian costs are about $500 and a bottle of Vodka.
Basically minimal training and equipment, then we expect that Ukraine is going to mount some amazing counter offensive and defeat Russia…
“train” might not be the right word here, bare minimum to get them out there is probably more accurate.
I was a POG in the U.S. Army who deployed to Afghanistan and I’m pretty sure my training cost was an insane multiple of that.
But I’m also sure you can train a kickass rifleman for $4800 if you have an amazing warrior culture and lots of hardened veterans around, which Ukraine does.
In 1989, the first 2 weeks of Basic training cost the U.S.Army $30,000 per trainee.
That’s cheap af.
Give everything Ukraine needs, including certain permissions, to Ukraine to win this war against our collective nemesis.
After Trump, it is going to cost America that much to feed a single soldier for a week.

Ok.
That seems reasonable.
