hii, today i fell into a rabbit hole of looking up pictures of the mascot of the european union, Sirius. does anyone remember him? i was specifically looking at polish-language posts from primarily elementary schools websites which havent been updated in 10+ years. was it just a polish thing? does anyone have any recollection of him? asking my polish friends, some do remember him from their childhoods in the mid-to-late 2000s. there is almost no mention of him on english-language sites.

I remember seeing him during the Brexit campaign getting into fights with the British bulldogs.
I bought a plush toy of it in 1996 in Biarritz, France.
Why they randomly sold it at the reception of a camp site, I don’t know.
It had a backpack with a small leaflet about the then 12 European countries. Each country had their own Sirius with a hat typical for that country, I think the shirt was the flag of the country. I do remember those being sold as small plastic (or rubber) key chain pendants in the same display case.
I bought another plush one in Strasbourg in 2001 in the European Parliament, which does make a lot more sense.
