  1. And though it lists lunch as 12-2pm I guarantee you they won’t take your order if it’s after 13:30 (probably even earlier).

  2. The French: “Our town centres are dying, how could this happen?!”

    Also the French:

  3. Never seen a restaurant without dinner service. But, to be fair, I would not necessarily call a “brasserie” in a small town a restaurant.

And, again, to be fair, if you’re picky about hours, e.g. Spain is an even worse experience when visiting many cities and the countryside.

  4. Mate I’ve just googled this and you’ve got an Eddie Leclerc and a Fnac near it, that’s nowhere *close* to a small town! 😂

Small town is where it’s open between 12 and 1, you make a booking for 12, then they phone you at 11.30 on the day to say they are closing the restaurant because their neighbour’s cat died

  5. It’s so scheduled, lol.

The good news is if you operate on their schedule, then the options are phenomenal. The bad news is you have to be very scheduled, lol. It’s a very Germanic take on Latin life, very uniquely French.
