Plastic packaging for fresh fruits and vegetables will be banned from January 1 in France as the country phases out single-use plastic.   1. What enrages me most, in Ireland but probably everywhere, are pomelos wrapped in plastic, with an additional plastic net around. That's how Chinese economy was boosted – at the cost to everyone's environment.

  2. Wait until they have to buy/pay more because of spoilage. Whole melons for example because once cut, they oxidize quickly so sellers have to sell them whole… Boxes of fruits because if sold in bulk, those will damage quite easily… There has to be a better but the activists don't care about their consequences. I wonder if we were to visit the average activist, how environmentally unfriendly their homes would be…

  3. You know they are going to go back to using paper which is going the raise the issue with deforestation again. In my opinion banning plastic is just for the short while raise the price of produce in the stores. I wouldn't be surprised if in a year people are complaining about how prices increased for these items and trying to attribute it to something else.
