Ukraine War: Military analyst on why Russia has launched an attack

Well our military analyst sha Bell joins us now Sean good afternoon to you so what do we know about what happened last night yeah good afternoon K that’s the biggest wave of Russian attacks on Ukraine since the start of the war president zinski sends 122 missiles were

Fired if you go back to November 22 was the last time that significant wave that was 96 less than 100 and even this year 87 was them so it’s been a huge number of attacks there’ve been attacks all the way across the country from Lviv just

Above your head there on the west side of the country the capital ke car ke and even down to the South of adessa this is Russia demonstrating and strike anywhere and everywhere there was a mix of Shahed 136 drones those slow speed drones there was also the ballistic missiles but

There were also some of their Hypersonic missiles as well so Russia was throwing a lot of uh at the ukrainians um the casualty figures they’ve been rising since we’ve been on air but so far we’ve heard reports 22 have been killed and 86 injured but when you look at some of the

Devastation from some of the imagery we’re getting uh it’s very likely that that figure will uh increase I mean the Ukrainian Air Force spokesman said they’d never seen a tiate of this sort of magnitude of simultaneous attacks against the infrastructure and whatever the Russians were targeting what they

Were hitting was a maternity hospital schools and residential areas so it’s caused a lot of Carnage on the ground certainly has and Sean why launch an attack of this size now do you think inevitably that’s the question on most people’s lips because you just don’t know now clearly President Putin his

Military commanders will know that but Russia’s famously quite short of cruise missiles and therefore why would it use a whole belt of them three reasons really at this time of last year uh Russia targeted Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure um to try to make life bluntly as miserable as possible

For the ukrainians and it’s quite possible that um when the ukrainians in this last year are much more effective at shooting down those missiles so sometimes quite difficult to work out what Russia was targeting because the wreckage Falls elsewhere and sometimes the WarHeads if they survive intact blow

Up so they cause a lot of Carnage on the ground um second one is Russian retribution you remember the um ship that they lost down in the Crimean Port only a few days ago uh it’s quite likely that Russia will feel sore about that they’ve lost 20% of their Black Sea

Fleet so far and the ukrainians don’t actually have a credible Navy so they will be smarting about that um but the third reason I suspect will be that wave of attacks like this are traditionally a precursor for a major ground offensive now it looks very unlikely Russia um

Ukraine’s tried to do its major offensive over the uh the summer that faltered um it’s winter it’s not great but over the last literally 48 hours or so the Russians have been fighting and taken marinka which is just down to the South here of the dbass and they are

Clearly part of the special military operation they’re clearly focused on this whole of this dbass region and what we’re expecting next is potentially an attack on kramatorsk it’s all part of that special military operation it’s a clear Focus for the Russian forces and we expect to see that uh continue over

The coming weeks and months

The latest attacks on Ukraine are the “biggest I have seen for quite some time”, according to Sky’s military analyst Sean Bell.

He believes the time of year has a lot to do with why the attacks were launched.

  1. Just thought it would be fun to post this Tweet from March 4, 2022.

Bellingcat investigator Christo Grozev says that Russia has resources left for the war until Sunday, after which they will collapse.

Also next week, Russia is facing sanctions, the scale of which "we have not seen before" and they will also affect Putin.

  2. The Russians have also learned lessons from the western powers. The western military would routinely spend ( on targets, normally in the middle east ) all it`s cruise missiles that had been in the marine ( salt water ) environments for any length of time Rather than meet the expense of decommissioning the air frames and rebuilding them in new air frames. This is because there is an electrolytic ( battery action ) between the Aluminum ( air frame ) and the engine and ` payload ` made of ferrous metals and ferrous metal alloys. The reaction caused the contact arears around the fixtures and fittings to corrode and the " in flight performance / characteristics ` to become unreliable. Steps have been taken to overcome these problems and a modern missile in a marine nvionment may have a " shelf life " now of up to twenty ( 20 ) years.

  3. Putin knows that American hedge funds are on his side. Putin knows American hedge funds will drag down sentiment for a majority of Americans.

Putin will definitely win because the American government is blind.

These hedge funds have been getting paid to find cobras. Now they don't even look for wild cobras. They just breed them.

  4. Wait till Odessa falls. This is the most catastrophic failure of NATO in its history. Destroying the European economy, millions displaced and worse. Europeans, the pawns that the US decided should be divided from prosperity, so they don't challenge US hegemony.

  5. "Russia is famously quite short of cruise missiles" 😂 😂 🤡 Never believe your own propaganda. Ukraine's offensive has "faltered" 😅🤡 – it's been roundly defeated not faltered. This guy is an "expert", whereas he really knows no more than a typical know-it-all in the White Horse. The Russians are targeting Ukraine's air defences actually.

Also, funny how casualties are reported for Russian attacks, but Ukraine goes on the offensive as "we" forced them to do and loses 20,000 men PER MONTH, our mainstream media doesn't want us to know just in case we suggest that Ukraine should stop fighting and surrender to save lives and what's left of Ukraine after Boris Johnson disastrously told Ukraine to back out of the peace process in April 2022 if they wanted "help"

  6. Likely Russia has fewer targets left to hit as they move closer to final victory.

UK should have been allied with Russia as in WW1, WW2, Napoleonic wars, Greek war of independence and Austrian wars of succession.

(A Soviet ‘Russian’ linesman also helped England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 win the 1966 Soccer World Cup)

  7. Clearly, it is Putin's intent to punish Ukraine for resisting and showing Russia's corruption and incompetence. Rather than targeting military targets, he intentionally targets civilians and continues to hope that the US and Europe will pull their support for Ukraine.

  8. Strange how Russia bombs hospitals and schools and have been doing so for 2 years and no condemnation from the UN and no protests in the streets. Double standards by all these organizations. However I guess there is no involvement by Jews.

  9. Thanks Sean as always. My grand father was an Air vice Marshall during WW2 and I very much value your analysis and clear commentary from the beginning of this horror.
    💙💛🇬🇧 Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦💙 💛

  10. Well Russia did not hit anything at all they don,t have any missile anymore so this is a lie again Russia is not able to move forward because there army is completly paralised
