Russia says Ukraine carried out deadly strikes on Belgorod | BBC News

Now the governor of the Russian city of bulgaro says that two children were killed and several people injured as a result of a Ukrainian strike on the city center residential area is said to have been hit in the city which is about 80 km or 50 miles north of the Ukrainian

City of HEV it comes a day after Friday’s massive bombardment of Ukraine the biggest of the war so far Ukraine’s President zinski says at least 39 people were killed in that attack when 150 Russian missiles and drones were launched at cities across Ukraine the bombardment has been overwhelmingly

Condemned at an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council many countries said hitting civilian infrastructure had violated the international rules of War let’s speak now to our reporter Zan batuk go in key for us um can you just talk us through those attacks on Friday on such a huge scale weren’t

They yes uh uh so far um we can say that there is the file number radio of for all missiles and drones that attacked Ukraine alog together 158 drones and missiles of almost all possible times so it’s definitely the biggest number since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February

2022 all main Ukrainian cities uh all across the country were damaged targeted by Russian uh missiles and drones uh and the Ukraine president has said that altogether 120 Ukrainian cities towns Villages were affected by this particular attack um it came in a few waves uh and for example

In Kev it’s confirmed for now that 16 people were killed and some people still even now when we are uh talking uh stay under the debr in one of the districts of the Ukrainian capital and rescue Works they continue There is a hope that these people can be

Saved uh and uh almost 160 people Al together all across the country um were injured and also uh over 30 people were killed uh yeah then came of course Ukraine’s retaliatory attacks yes and uh far fine Advance before uh this large scale attack on Ukraine the Ukrainian uh military

Intelligence said it very clearly that if Russia uh attacks Ukraine on a large scale during the winter with the uh goal to um disrupt infrastructure first of all power stations uh and uh if it affects also the civilian population in the Ukrainian cities which happened actually so then there’ll be the

Retaliation there’ll be the response and uh for now Ukraine relies mainly on combat drones uh we got the reports from Russia that also uh the missiles were launched against Russian territories uh overnight on the 30th of December but uh that’s a an open question and this this information obviously has to be um

Verified because uh the part of the agreement that Russia that sorry Ukraine has with uh the Western countries that it can’t use large scale uh missiles supplied by the Western Partners to Target any I think in the Russian territories it can use them only to liberate own territories including the

Crimea yeah and there have been reports of more Russian troops moving towards the Border have you heard anything about that if so what can you tell us uh you know I tried to verify uh this information from Ukrainian sources uh so far it it’s not confirmed uh some

Reports uh of uh Russian build up on the borders they they come time from time over the the war and uh especially during the the winter season as we saw it at the beginning of this year 2023 uh in January uh February so I think we just have to observe now and

Obviously Ukraine relies overwhelmingly on the sources in the British and us um intelligence uh organizations um just to get uh the accurate assessment what is actually happening on the bers

Russia has vowed to retaliate after it says Ukrainian strikes have killed 14, including two children, in the border city of Belgorod.

If confirmed, it would be one of the deadliest strikes on Russia during the war so far – after nearly two years of fighting.

It comes hours after Russian strikes on a number of cities across Ukraine which killed 39 people, in what was described by Kyiv as Russia’s biggest missile bombardment of the war so far.

  1. Чехия и остальная Европа готовьтесь твари, мы готовы вас разбомбить, сейчас только если даст приказ президент. Вы давно на мушке скоро будет поле с миллионами мертвых тварей которые помогают нацистам. До встречи 😎

  2. What I see in Russia is a pathetic and outragous attempt to make impositons over the globe baselessly, something akin to the end of Freddie Got Fingered. At the end, Gord uses the million dollars he earned through an incomprehensible storyline to sedate his father and move him along with most of his house to Pakistan, where he rants in a screaming over the top rage about how he wasn't loved enough, masturbating an elephant part way. His dad doesn't submit to his insane meglomania. Putin wants to control people with extreme and disturbing episodes, he's maasivrly explosive and his lengths to go about hyperdominant posing are silly. No matter how strange and outragous the Russians get, we absolutely must not react

  3. Not true. Russia sent its own rockets from Ukraine. Just as Russians representative said about rockets in poland. Show me prof it was Ukraine that shot the rockets.

  4. For a moment, my dyslexic and oversized font had me believing Zelenskyy took out either Belgium or Belgrade. Fortunately, there's still no US-Nato-involved world war.

  5. And to think if russian soldiers had stayed in russia not one person would have died and billions of dollars/rubles/euros would of been saved. Adolf Putin is a mad man with the blood of thousands on his hands
