Senior officials’ call for Palestinians to leave Gaza caused ‘enormous damage’ to Israel’s image

Uh they’ve been made by a number of far right politicians and we haven’t heard a response from Israel’s prime minister but we have heard um a response from a a leading L could figure because this has been going on for two days now causing enormous damage to Israel for two

Reasons uh and I’ll get to the second one in a moment but one of them is the fact that the International Community generally is critical of this because you know basically it’s a suggestion transferring all these all these um gazan civilians somewhere else some other nameless country even a suggestion

That Israel was negotiating with countries in Africa Congo was one suggestion that I’ve read uh but now there’s a denial of that from um Israeli officials and a member of the liud party has said it’s not going to happen so they shouldn’t discuss it publicly because all it does is harm Israel um

Israel’s image and in fact Israel’s image is the second important reason because Israel is going to be in the international court of justice facing a South African complaint that it is um enacting genocide in Gaza and one of one of the definitions of genocide is forced

Transfer of a population so for all the reasons the fact that it won’t be carried out the fact that it’s so damaging to Israel the fact that it’s damaging to Israel in this icj action there have been calls for these politicians to um stop saying these things but of course hasn’t come from

The Prime Minister yet

Recent remarks made by senior Israeli officials calling for Palestinians to leave Gaza have caused “enormous damage” to Israel’s image, FRANCE 24’s Irris Makler said. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has so far refrained from commenting on the controversial remarks.

  1. What happened before in 1948, in absence of UN, can't happen again. Actually, if it is proven, it would be very easy to file a war crime against Israel, which will affect trade and economy. Netanyahu can say whatever he wants, but I don't think Israelis want to bear the consequences of such actions.

  2. Israel's image did not suffer "enormous damage". The remarks made by senior Israeli officials only converted the Israel's image from a solid pile of faecal matter into a never ending stream of stinking liquid.

  3. Problem in middle east is israel with their nazionism. Not Palestine. Even Palestinians not there they will make enemy with others just like today.

  4. NEWSFLASH LADY Israel's image can not possibly be more damaged than in the past 2 going on 3 months. The only image they now portrait is the image of what Germany portrayed during ww2. And it will sadly stay that way for many, many decades.

  5. I find South Africa's the one complaining utter ridiculous. The irony is unbelievable. From what I've read they cant keep the lights on in SA, and THIS is what's more important to them.

A few years ago they were suffering from drought. They cant supply electricity reliably, yet they feel they need to complain about this: a war that is taking place thousands of miles away from them and in which they are NOT involved.

I think they are being coerced or told to complain by parties like IRAN, who is making it worth their while. CASH or favours, what is it ANC??
