  1. The Tower air-traffic controllers knew where the Dash 8-300 because I am assuming they had Ground Radar. All major airports in the world have Ground Radar. So somebody in the ATC was not paying attention what was going on. From the crash footage, it looks that the Airbus A359 hit the Dash 8-300 with its nose so the Airbus A359 did not veer from the runway. I believe that when the collision happened, the Dash 8-300 was already in the runway because if it was on taxiway C5, the damage on Airbus A359 would have been the wings on the left. From footage, one sees that the left wing of A359 was intact. What I suys pect is the the Dash 8-300 was in fact IN the runway. The Airbus 359 hit the Coast Guard airplane with its nose. With the impact, the Dash 8-300 veered on the left hand side of the runway but then the left engine of Airbus A359 hit the Coast Guard plane with such a force that the Dash 8-300 was split in two. Half of the Dash 8-300 veer to the right of the A359 and the other half veer to the left. In fact, both engines of Airbus A359 were damaged. If the Dash 8-300 remained intact then it veered to the left and the damage on the engine and left wing would have been damaged. This is not what happened. Both engines of the A359 were hit with the Dash 8-300 split in half with the nose of the A359. I will create a video with animation in order to understand better what happened (in theory, of course).

  2. Communication needs to be improved between pilots and the control tower universally around the world because of this crash. Don’t tell a pilot to hold short of C5 rather use proper safe universal language of ie. hold short runway 36 aircraft on final. All airports around the world need to use this terminology. KISS. Simple

  3. My great great grandpa was on the coast guard plane when the plane landed one of the pilots accidentally hit the plane and all 5 Coast guards died and my great great grandpa was one of them he was coming back from Nagoya On the coast guard plane he was 77 years old 😭

  4. it’s not runway c it’s taxiway C5 (Charlie-5)
    The runway the A350 (JAL516) was landing on was runway 34R (three-four-right)
    and that yellow line on the airport is on the TAXIWAY -_-
    also the “Bombardier Dash-8” is aCkThUaLLy a DHC-8 (De Haviland-Canadair), also it is sometimes shortened to “the -8”
    but besides mistakes that make aviation geeks angry, rest in peace to those aboard the DHC-8 and those effected by the earthquake

  5. The red ground lights that tell aircraft to “stop” before entering the runway were not in working order. Perhaps the pilots of the Coast Guard plane didn’t know this. And they assumed that if they were not red it was ok to enter? Not sure. But I would imagine ATC would’ve told them to hold because of the incoming A-350. Tragic. Good job by the JAL crew getting everyone off that big plane alive. My daughter is a flight attendant. I pray she never has to go through something like this. But I know if she does, she’ll take care of her passengers and get them home safely. 🙂

  11. Japanese people practice disaster and fire drills at least once a year, either at school, at work, or in large apartment complexes.

    The three common rules for evacuation, called "Okashi", are as follows

    Do not push other people
    Do not run
    Do not talk

  12. That was a very preventable accident from happening and it was just unfortunate that it happened. It may have been pilot and crew (of the coastguard plane) distraction that they did not hear to HOLD SHORT of that runway from my understanding thus far. That pilot could have a gotten an ATC confirmation something like : "Haneda tower, coastguard plane, will be holding short of the runway, are we cleared for takeoff?" But it looks like they just kept on taxiing into the active runway without regards to landing aircraft behind them….my goodness. Somebody's at fault for sure but it's not JAL for they were cleared to land, but, at the same time, I wonder if the JAL crew even saw there was that plane on the runway they were landing on during their SHORT FINAL? That's another question to be answered. But for most of the error, I think it lies to either the ATC TOWER or the COASTGUARD crew that made the critical and unfortunate error. Had the JAL crew during short final had seen that plane on the runway, they could have diverted climbing away from the straight path towards the right while climbing for go around. It remains to be seen…..sad day for aviation.

  13. There is no videos saying jack sh** about those coast guard. Just talk about the survivors. If i was Japans Coast Guard i would feel like i did not matter to anyone.
